GRADING & EXAMINATION SYSTEM:
In Spring and Fall semesters, students are required to take three exams followed by a final exam for each course. For Summer semester, a mid term exam is held, followed by a final exam. In addition, students have to take quizzes and write term reports.

Grades:
Grade Point Average (GPA) is calculated as the sum of the products of grade points and credit hours for each course divided by the total number of credit hours completed at the Institute. A student must obtain minimum ‘C’ grade to pass a course.
Degree Requirements
Minimum passing grade in a course is “C” (2.0 points). However, a student must attain at least 2.5 GPA (C+) on aggregate, in order to graduate. Other requirements for the award of degree include:
- Completion of all required courses
- Internship(s) (for full-time students only)
- Project(s)
- Comprehensive examination
Probation and Dropout
If the cumulative GPA of a student falls below 2.5, a warning is issued to remind the student regarding the minimum GPA requirements for the award of a KIET degree. If the GPA falls below 2.0, the student is placed on probation. In the event of failure to improve the grade in the next semester to the minimum level of 2.0, the student is dropped from the roll of the Institute.
Comprehensive Exam
Comprehensive exam is a mandatory requirement for the award of degree in all degree programs.
The objective is to:
- Refresh students’ concepts in major areas of their discipline
- Establish a final output quality control
- Standardize the graduating level of students
Comprehensive Exam tests the essential knowledge in areas related to the degree program. Students are required to attempt their section(s) of specialisation (Graphics, Animation, Media Production) in addition to general questions about English, Psychology and Marketing.
